Who starred on the weekend?

All the stars from the Bellarine Peninsula Cricket Association lower grades from the weekend.

B1 Grade

Drysdale pair Gavin Humphrey and Charlie Clode put on 137 for the first wicket against Ocean Grove. Humphrey made 74 not out from 109 deliveries and Clode made 71 from 97.

Ocean Grove’s Nathan Taylor made 72 off 124 balls with 11 boundaries.

Armstrong Creek’s Calvin O’Brien took 4-20 from eight overs against Anglesea.

B2 Grade

Inverleigh’s Marcus Warton had the best figures of the grade with 5-18.

St Leonards’ Nick Kyrou took 5-30 in an unfamiliar role as bowler.

Little River’s Andrew McDonald claimed 4-43 and Portarlington’s Aaron Nicholson took 4-17.

Inverleigh’s Matthew Carr was the only batter to pass 50 with 54 from 71 balls.

C Grade

Cam Gourley made a superb 101 not out for Portarlington while Wallington’s Marc Occhipinti made 82 not out for Wallington in the same game.

Collendina’s Garry Wingrave followed up his 99 from last week with 75 this week against his old side St Leonards. Anthony Ward took 4-30 for the Saints.

Anglesea’s Tim Haworth made 75 not out.

Queenscliff’s Damian Fazio (54 not out) and Barrabool pair Ben Kemp (56 not out) and Hugh Maloney (54) all made half-centuries.

Ocean Grove won a high-scoring game against Barwon Heads with Jaydip Patel making 63 while Paul Sutton (5-41) and Shaun Deckert (60) had good games.

D Grade

Barwon Heads 12-year-old Jesse Bode stunned with a superb 56 and took the wicket of Port’s Seb Marsco, who made 55.

Barrabool’s Peter Adams (66 not out) and Paul Hood (82 not out) came together with the score at 6-41 and put on 159 for the seventh wicket. Jan Juc’s James Kernot returned the outstanding figures of 5-17.

Anglesea veteran Mark Stoneham made yet another ton with 102 not out with 15 fours and two sixes while Queenscliff’s Tom Bakker made 85.
