Kayak found without owner

Police are searching for the owner of a kayak that was located anchored in the bay off the Bellarine Peninsula this afternoon.

The kayak was located by fisherman in Corio Bay, about 150 meters off Beacon Point Road in Clifton Spring about 12.30pm.

The khaki-coloured Aqua Yak kayak had three fishing rods attached to it. No paddle has been located.

Police do not know who the owner of the kayak is and request they come forward.

No one has been reported missing at this stage.

Water Police and the police Air Wing helicopter are searching off the coast

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the kayak at any point this weekend or who has information about the owner to contact police.
