Residents in Barwon Heads, St Leonards and Leopold will have a chance to raise issues with their local councillors on Saturday as the second round of councillor listening posts for 2021 continues.

Bellarine Ward councillors Stephanie Asher, Jim Mason and Trent Sullivan will be available to chat informally about any topics of interest at the corner of Hitchcock Avenue and Bridge Road in Barwon Heads from 9am to 10.30am, outside St Leonards IGA from 11am to noon and at Leopold Gateway Plaza from 12.30pm to 2pm.

It follows similar listening posts held in Norlane and Lara last month.

Cr Asher said she was looking forward to visiting Barwon Heads, St Leonards and Leopold, after previously holding Listening Posts in Ocean Grove, Portarlington and Drysdale.

“It is terrific to be hosting sessions in Barwon Heads, St Leonards and Leopold, which will give residents an opportunity to raise any local matter,” Cr Asher said.

“Everyone is invited and encouraged to come along and speak with us about any council issue they want to raise.”

Cr Mason said it was important to gain an understanding of the distinct issues facing each town across the Bellarine.

“By listening, Council is in a better position to develop its strategic planning and better represent the needs of the community,” Cr Mason said.

“It’s also an opportunity for the community to find out about on council projects, decisions and activities.”

All community members are welcome to attend the sessions and there is no requirement to pre-register.

Each session will be held in a COVID-safe manner in line with government directions.
