Torquay will go into this weekend’s Bellarine Football League general bye as the only unbeaten team after a 38-point win against Modewarre.

An inaccurate Torquay kicked 12.27(99) to 9.7(61), but it was Modewarre which looked likely winners at half time.

Modda led by 18 points at the long break, but would boot just two more goals for the game with the Tigers slamming on seven goals in a frantic third quarter.

Oscar Lewis was busy as were midfielders Sheldon Ham and Matt Boag (three goals). Former VFL gun Matt Farrelly was best for the Warriors.

Drysdale remained hot on the heels of Torquay with a 60-point win against Queenscliff.

Star Hawk Ben Fennell was best afield and booted three goals as did tall Ben Henderson.

Queenscliff was well served by Caleb Whitley and Lachlan McKane, but will need to start winning after the break to break into the top five.

Anglesea returned home from Newcomb with a 69-point win. Coach Jordan Keras kicked five goals for the fourth-placed Roos.

Barwon Heads thrashed Portarlington by 122 points with utility Tom Swift best afield while captain Lachland Smith kicked four goals. Harry Hyland made his senior debut and booted a clever goal. Boom recruit Teia Miles was Port’s best.

Geelong Amateur prevailed under lights against Ocean Grove by 64 points.

Patrick Dowling was unstoppable up forward for Ammos with eight goals and 10 behinds while star recruit Blake Sutterby got plenty of the ball.

Livewire Max Sutton was Ocean Grove’s best while Brady Pritchard booted four goals in a lone effort up forward. After the break, Ocean Grove takes on fellow winless side Newcomb in round seven.
