Brendan Waites has lived in Ocean Grove for 10 years and his business – Ocean Grove Camera and Photo – has been up and running for two and a half years.
Brendan’s business has passed a few milestones in that time and he said they are halfway through an initial five-year plan.
“It’s a great community to do business in,” Brendan said. “I saw a need early on for this type of business and the support from locals has been fantastic. We couldn’t have done it without the support we get from the local community.”
Ocean Grove Camera and Photo is your one stop shop for all your photographic needs – from printing your photos from any device, cameras, phones, iPads and other tablets in store, or by printing photos ordered via the website (www.cameraandphoto.com.au).
Brendan employs one other full-time staff member – Krystal – and has just employed a new Saturday junior – Kelsey.
“Product and service expansion is always on the agenda. I am hopeful of expanding our photographic workshops for example,” Brendan said. “They have already been incredibly popular.”
Ocean Grove Camera and Photo deals mainly with Grove locals, but also people from across the Bellarine and tourists.
“It’s always great to help out people from across the Bellarine and of course we look after a lot of tourists from Christmas to Easter,” Brendan said.
The business is active in supporting the local area.
“We already support local groups, including Ocean Grove Primary School, Bellarine Community Farmers’ Market, Bronte’s Ball and Team Annie, which is a fund-raiser for brain cancer research,” Brendan said.
Away from work, Brendan is a keen golfer and cyclist.
