Bookgrove is a modern, independently owned and locally operated bookstore on the Bellarine Peninsula in the heart of Ocean Grove that has stood the test of time since 2009.
It sells books, ranging from Australian and international fiction, latest releases, best sellers, junior fiction, young adult fiction, children’s picture and board books, gardening and landscape design, history and politics, biographies and memoirs, art and design, craft, travel, sports, health and well-being and cookbooks and it stocks titles from international and national book awards and adult colouring books.
Owner Stacey Moore, a local for 18 years, employs many staff of varied ages who all live and work in Ocean Grove.
“I opened a bookstore in Ocean Grove as books are my passion and Ocean Grove people love books and needed a quality bookstore,” she said.
“Most of my business in terms of the sale of books is with Ocean Grove people who are strong supporters of the vision of Bookgrove and permanent holiday makers and tourists. Outside of the sale of books, my business extends to liaising with people all over Australia and the globe, with suppliers and other booksellers, membership organisations such as Australian Booksellers and independent booksellers. My business is going okay and I have the Ocean Grove community to thank for that.”
Bookgrove helps the community in many ways by supporting schools, kindergartens across the Bellarine with fund-raising and book selections for their libraries.
Stacey is also involved with the Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club in many volunteer capacities.
Away from the business Stacey has many passions, and of course she is addicted to reading. Other interests are keeping fit by swimming, surfing, yoga, and surf life-saving. She also loves gardening.
“Pottering among the greenery of plants is very healing,” she said.
