Ocean Grove had a straight sets exit in the Bellarine Football League reserves finals series.

The Grubbers earned the double chance by finishing third on the ladder, but suffered a 13-point loss to Drysdale in the qualifying final and a five-point loss to Geelong Amateur in the first semi-final.

Scores were level at quarter time, but Ocean Grove booted five second term goals to take a three-goal lead into the long break.

A goalless third term meant the Grubbers held on by a point at the last change and would eventually go down by less than a kick.

In the qualifying final, a goalless opening term meant Ocean Grove was playing catch up for the rest of the game.

And catch up it did to trail by four points at the last change, but the Hawks held on with Thomas Smith, Craig Goodger and Bryce Dunell best while Joel Watson and Nick Moriarty were best for Drysdale.
