Pedestrian killed

A female pedestrian has died after being struck by a car in Barwon Heads this morning.

The collision occurred outside a service station on Geelong Road shortly before 3.30am.

The male driver of the car was not injured and stopped at the scene to assist.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

Geelong Road is expected to be closed for several hours so motorists are urged to take an alternative route and avoid the area.
