Online fun with the Shed

Damon Smith and Dave Cosma will perform the history on Sun Studios.

When the Potato Shed’s 2020 season was cancelled, it didn’t spell the end of live performances.

The ‘shed’ immediately launched into livestreaming, and by early April the ‘Bird Bath Cam Sessions’ were up and running.

Ocean Grove based Bellarine AV set up a livestream of the bird bath in the courtyard and the shed staff have programmed regular Friday afternoon gigs.

Each Friday in May, live music, accompanied by the live soundtrack of the birds at the birdbath, has been streamed free into your COVID-19 social distancing space for your relaxation pleasure.

Local brother and sister duo James and Elena Nicholls (8 May), The Gems (15 May) and Joseph Stanaway (12.30pm Friday 29 May) provided the soundtrack to the start of your weekend.

Also on the program from 4pm Friday 22 May, special guests Damon Smith and Dave Cosma (Sun Rising, the story of Sun Studios the hit show from the 2019 Season) will perform hits from the greatest studio of all time, Memphis’ own Sun Studios.

“Dave and I are excited to return to the Potato Shed,” Damon says.

“This time, we’ll be bringing you a special unplugged version of our show about the history of Sun Records: The Songs that Made Memphis.

“For one whole hour, you’ll hear songs and stories from the show by Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and many more legends from Sun Records, with a dose of humour to spice things up.”
