The Bellarine Community Support Register has donated items from its recent Seniors Week Festival to a sister charity – Feed Me Bellarine.

Feed Me Bellarine volunteer Wendy Spence said the donation of Christmas decorations was great timing.

“We have just advertised for donations for our Christmas hampers and they will make perfect basket linings or they could also be used as gift wrap,” she said.

BCSR chairperson Leonie Saundry thanked the City of Greater Geelong for funding the Seniors Week Festival as well as their own volunteers and others who took part.

“Our volunteers delivered ‘musical morning tea kits’ to 159 participants aged between 55 and 97 years from all over the City of Greater Geelong including local organisations, GENU and Seaview Manors,” she said.

“Those involved logged into King’s ‘Songs of Yesteryear’ whilst enjoying their morning tea, then completed the decorative Christmas tea towels to donate back to charity.”

Positive feedback was received regarding the event which was estimated to have involved more The Bellarine Community Support securely and safely holds personal and contact information of Bellarine residents that can be accessed by police in an emergency.
