FOLLOWING the recent announcement of the very first Australian tour for guitar legend Ana Popovic who will be bringing her Trilogy Tour to our shores this September, Mitchell Creek Rock and Blues Festival is proud to announce the addition of a second Victorian show on Thursday 22 September at the Barwon Club in Geelong.
Confirmed to be joining Ana for the Geelong show at the Barwon Club will be none other than the esteemed Chris Wilson, and the very slick award-winning sensations, Blue Eyes Cry.
The award-winning, hard-touring, guitar-slinging Ana successfully blends smoking electric funk and slide guitar, jazzy instrumentals and a tight blues groove with soulful, feminine vocals. Add to the mix her incredible stage presence, all of which makes her an irresistible force in the world of contemporary blues music and Australian audiences are in for a treat with her up-close and intimate shows.
With ‘Trilogy’ Ana releases three albums in one! Twenty-three blues, jazz and funk tunes produced by Grammy Award winner Warren Riker (Lauryn Hill, Carlos Santana), Grammy Award winner Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy, Susan Tedeschi) and Delfeayo Marsalis, one of the top trombonists, composers and producers in jazz today.
Guest appearances include Joe Bonamassa, Robert Randolph, Bernard Purdie (The Purdie Shuffle), Cody Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars), George Porter (The Meters), Ivan Neville, rapper Al Capone and others.
Trilogy highlights in musicianship Ana’s agile shredding and soulful voice, showing you don’t need Southern roots to create fiery blues, jazz or funk.Tickets are on sale and available at tickets.oztix.com.au/?eventId=65551 for $28.60, which includes booking fee and processing.
