New Ocean Grove senior football coach Pete Davey said forming friendships with Grubber netballers and footballers was the inspiration behind a joint club pre-season training session recently.
Senior netballers and footballers held a Saturday morning training session at Ocean Grove main beach last month.
Davey, who was joined by new Ocean Grove senior netball coach Nikki Cooke at training, said the club outlined expectations for players and coaches for the upcoming season.
“We wanted to get the footballers and netballers together and start forming friendships that will hopefully strengthen over the season and years to come,” Davey told the Voice.
“The talk we had at the end was about club culture, what we want the club to look like and what the expectations are of a coach and player at the club.”
New Grubber fitness and wellbeing manager Dean Casamento put together a fun and challenging circuit which tested players physically and mentally.
Activities included an egg and spoon race, team running, singlefile running on the beach, team talks, which was followed by a barbecue afterwards.
