New festival at OG Park

Earth Fest, a new twilight community initiative with a focus on sustainable living is coming to Ocean Grove Park tomorrow.

Hosted by Our Lady Star of The Sea Primary School, Earth Fest will feature live music, family activities, food stalls and displays from community and environment groups.

Students and school staff have been busy preparing for the event, assisting in the design and production of a logo and poster for the festival, which will include entertainment from local musicians and headline act, The Formidable Vegetable Sound System.

The purpose of Earth Fest is to educate, promote and advocate for sustainable living now and into the future.

Representatives from Barwon Coast Committee, Bellarine Catchment Network, CoastCare, Climate Watch, Geelong Sustainability, Queenscliff marine Discovery Centre, Australian Conservation Volunteers, 100 per cent Clean Bellarine,

Share Waste and Friends of the Ocean Grove Park will be on hand to share a host of information and answer questions.

Various information stalls from a range of community groups will be there to help educate festival goers and there will also be a chance for interested people to sign up as volunteers if they would like to become more active in taking care of the local environment.

A recycled art competition and repurposed/inventor competition will also be a part of the festival and there will be face painting for children, raffles, food stalls and much more.

Bring your family and friends and get involved in this great community event.
