Ocean Grove Football Netball Club has moved swiftly to find a successor for outgoing senior coach Paul Lynch with the club set to interview candidates next week.
OGFNC president Tony Potter confirmed a sub-committee had been formed after Lynch advised the Grubbers of his intention to step down on Tuesday night 14 August.
“A sub-committee has started already – we are forming one now,” Potter told the Voice.
“Hopefully we’ll have some interviews next week.
“I am trying to organise interviews for next Wednesday night.”
Potter said there are no plans to advertise the senior coaching position, with the club ‘fielding a number of calls on the prized role.
“Obviously we want to appoint someone as quickly as we possibly can,” he said.
“We have got recruiting to do and players to retain.”
Potter confirmed Lynch, who had been the Ocean Grove senior coach for two seasons, cited family reasons for stepping down
“Yes it was family, so he has been doing it a long time and he needed a rest,” he said.
