Collendina Recreation Reserve will benefit from a $580,000 major upgrade under a re-elected Liberal government.
Federal Member for Corangamite Sarah Henderson made the announcement as she joined members of the Ocean Grove community after the junior Cobras football training on Friday night.
The funding will allow the club to upgrade its clubroom and facilities, including expanding and modernising the changerooms, and building a state-of-the-art undercover area so that the club can continue to be used year-round by community sporting groups.
Ms Henderson said the project was budgeted funding – provided under the Morrison government’s Community Development Program.
“Investing in sports facilities and community infrastructure builds stronger communities,” Ms Henderson said.
“I am so pleased to have fought for local community and sporting organisations in Corangamite.”
The Morrison government’s investment in the Ocean Grove area includes:
$4 million for a new Ocean Grove Health and Wellbeing Hub, including headspace;
$5 million upgrade to Grubb Rd;
$1.16 million for Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club; and
$3.5 million for Shell Rd Pavilion at the Ocean Grove Football Netball Club
