Ocean Grove locals opened their hearts and wallets this Easter, donating $42,008 to the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
The town has long been one of the most generous contributors to the appeal and the (official) total eclipses last year’s $40,800.

Fresh from taking out the Life Saving Victoria State Championships, Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club is confident of doing well at the ‘Aussies’ this weekend.
The group of young surf life savers is completing its final preparations before the squad travels to Queensland to compete in the Australian Surf Life Saving titles.

Every household in Ocean Grove will fork out $507 to partially fund a 25.2 kilometre network of footpaths under a proposed shared funding model announced by the City of Greater Geelong.
Council is proposing that the city and ratepayers jointly fund the Principal Pedestrian Network (PPN), with council tipping in $3.65 million and ratepayers footing the remaining $3.17 million. There are 6245 rateable properties in the town that will help pay for the network.

Ocean Grove is celebrating bowls premierships in the two highest Geelong Bowls Region divisions, continuing its dominance of the sport in the area.
Ocean Grove won the GBR Saturday Pennant and the Midweek Division 1 competitions and picked up a further two flags in Divisions 5 and 6.
