Ocean Grove is mourning the loss of one its true gentlemen.
William Peter was better known as Bill and was a life member of the Bellarine Peninsula Cricket Association.
Bill played cricket with Ocean Grove for many years before moving on to umpiring. In fact the two umpires who officiate in the BPCA B grade grand final each season are awarded the Bill Peter Medal.
Bill was known as a friendly and jovial man, who loved cricket and was a true gentleman.
A funeral will be held to celebrate the life of Bill at 2pm Monday 5 February at St Peters Anglican Church, Ocean Grove.
A wake will then be held at the Ocean Grove Cricket Club on Shell Rd at 3pm.
