An Ocean Grove man who says he is sick of being ripped off by electricity providers has come up with his own local comparison site.
Trevor Gibbs decided to investigate why his electricity bill was so high, especially when he already has several solar panels installed.
“I got sick of being lied to by the electricity companies,” he said.
“I thought ‘there’s got to be an easier way’.”
So Mr Gibbs developed a spreadsheet that enables people to enter a few simple details of their electricity usage (found on their bill) and compare all the local providers.
Mr Gibbs has already entered the electricity companies’ figures and plans to update them frequently
Mr Gibbs said he was not looking for payment or anything in return.
“I just wanted to let people know that’s it’s actually quite easy to compare the different companies if you have a little bit of help,” he said.

“An email from the reader will get this spreadsheet and no other contact by myself and nothing will be passed on to companies apart from updates,” Mr Gibbs said.
