Nestlé Professional has donated a collective $5000 to the Rotary Clubs of Geelong to help support a local initiative.
According to Victoria Funnell, District Assistant Governor, the donation will be used to fund community services that provide food to disadvantaged residents of Geelong and offer support towards the growing challenge of food insecurity in the region.
“We are thrilled to receive this donation from Nestlé Professional to help support our community,” she said.
“This donation will assist in providing meals for disadvantaged residents and help supply breakfast to
students.”
Alongside the donation, Nestlé Professional has given the Rotary Clubs of Geelong 576 limited-edition Milo Geelong tins, which the Clubs will sell or donate to the local community, with any profits retained by the Club.
The 1.9kg tins’ design showcases local community men’s and women’s Australian Rules football matches, celebrating the town’s pioneering role in the evolution of the sport.
The illustration depicts the inclusive nature of sport in Geelong, in so far that everyone at any age is welcome in community sport.
“Local community football matches were chosen to feature on our new tins of Milo as they display
the unity, energy and community spirit of Geelong,” Nestlé Professional Oceania General Manager Scott Stuckmann said.
“The Geelong Football Club was one of the first teams in history and the sport is engrained in the town’s DNA.”
