Earthquake rocks Geelong and Victoria

An earthquake reaching 6.0 on the Richter scale and originating near Mansfield shook Geelong and Victoria for up to 30 seconds on Wednesday morning.

Residents from across Geelong and the Surf Coast reported their houses shaking and windows rattling, with the quake being felt across most of Victoria and even in southern NSW.

The Voice received reports of tremors from as far north as Canberra and Launceston.

According to Geoscience Australia, the 6.0 magnitude earthquake originated near Mansfield about 9.15am.
