Police want to speak to a man who may be able to assist them in their investigation over a dog attack at Ocean Grove beach.

At around 4pm on 11 October, a woman was walking her dog on a lead along the Ocean Grove Beach foreshore approximately 500 metres east of the Surf Life Saving Club.

A dog, which wasn’t on a lead, ran at the victim and her dog, before attacking the victim’s dog.

The victim and a bystander attempted to stop the attack before the offending dog ran back to its owner who had been laying on the beach.

The victim then spoke to the other owner who refused to give any name and address. As a result of the attack the victim’s dog received substantial injuries and the victim also received injuries.

Leading Senior Constable Joseph of the Bellarine Police Station wishes to speak to the male pictured here who was in the area with his dog at the time this attack took place.

If you have any information that could assist this investigation you are requested to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and refer Incident Number 200658395 or call Leading Senior Constable Joseph at the Bellarine Police Station on 52 562698.
