Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) will celebrate past and present members during its 75th anniversary.

The club will host a Reunion Drinks night in the Ocean Grove SLSC Members Lounge at 28 Surf Beach Road from 5pm next Saturday, October 21.

Life member John Fitzgerald said he looked forward to seeing all the past and present club members at the event.

“Our club was formed 75 years ago and we’re having a celebration with a reunion for all past members and current members of the club,” he said.

“A lot of people do come and go for different reasons, and many people are coming along that we haven’t seen for a long time.

“It should be a great night to catch up with old members and hear their stories of what they’ve done in the past and talking about old times.”

Mr Fitzgerald first joined the club when he was 15 and had been there for 43 years. He said he couldn’t wait to hear how the older members have been and what they’ve been up to.

Close to 75 years ago, on November 18, 1948, Ocean Grove SLSC connected with the Victorian Centre, now called Life Saving Victoria, as a Surf Life Saving Club.

The Reunion Drinks night is a ticketed event, with tickets available online at trybooking.com/events/landing/1108350
