Ocean Grove businesses reported a bumper trading period over the Christmas/New Year holidays.
Some traders said it was their best ever summer.
Ocean Grove Business Association president Ty Simons, who is also the owner of Driftwood Café, said the summer tourist season proved bountiful.
“Most businesses reported a very positive start to the year – a good, solid January,” he said.
“The Driftwood had its best summer yet.”
Weather conditions played a huge role in ensuring local traders did well from the holiday period.
“Great weather helped, not too hot, not too wet, a good mix of days that were perfect for shopping, for the beach, wineries, water parks etc,” Mr Simons said.
The Olive Pit’s Michael Dowsley said business had been steady.
“It was good,” he said.
“The days fell just right and extended the season that little bit longer and the weather played a big part as well.”
Summers in Ocean Grove and the Bellarine are enticing for many visitors.
“Ocean Grove has a great range of shops, a wonderful beach and cafes and restaurants that are getting better all the time,” Mr Simons said.
“We are becoming a better holiday option every year. The Bellarine as a whole seems to have something new and exciting opening up almost every week.”
