Respect starts early at Woodlands

WOODLANDS House Childcare celebrated National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day recently.
The children enjoyed a discussion about flags which were then raised up the flag poles.
Educators shared Aboriginal story time and it was a fun event, helping all children feel connected and proud of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
This year’s theme for National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day 2016 is My Country, Our Country, We All Belong.
National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day (4 August) is a time for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to celebrate the strengths and culture of their children.
The day is an opportunity for all Australians to show their support for Aboriginal children, as well as learn about the crucial impact that community, culture and family play in the life of every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child.
