Get on board for coast care

BELLARINE MP Lisa Neville is calling for expressions of interest this month for three positions on the Barwon Coast Committee of Management (BCCOM).
Mrs Neville said the positions provide an opportunity for qualified people to contribute to Victoria’s coast.
“Victoria’s coastal committees play an integral role in protecting and enhancing our magnificent coastline on behalf of the community,” she said.
“I would encourage anyone with a passion for preserving our beautiful coastal areas to nominate for one of these positions.”
BCCOM manages 13km of coastline between Ocean Grove and Thirteenth Beach.
The Victorian Government is seeking people with engineering, financial, legal, or environmental knowledge, who are engaged with their local communities.
It is also looking to fill places on the Bellarine Bayside Foreshore Committee of Management and the Great Ocean Road Coast Committee.
It will undertake the recruitment process for all committees simultaneously, to place candidates who apply for multiple committees on the one that most requires their skills.
Applicants must register an account on the ‘Get On Board’ website, before applying at vacancies.publicboards.vic.gov.au
Expressions of interest close at 5pm on Sunday 20 March.
For more information contact the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning’s Anglesea office on 5320 2012.
