Fatal overnight crash north-west of Geelong

Another life has been lost on the state’s roads after a car crashed into a tree north-west of Geelong last night.

Emergency services responded to reports of a car crashing into a tree on Steiglitz-She Oaks Road at about 8pm on Sunday, April 6.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehice, who is yet to be formarly identified, died at the scene and investigations into the fatal crash remain ongoing.

The death brings the number of lives lost on the state’s roads to 77 this year, according to Victoria Police’s current provisional lives lost tally.
