Eight new cases in Geelong

One of the new COVID-19 cases in Geelong is under investigation.

Victorian chief health officer Brett Sutton said that there had been eight new cases in the area in the past 24 hours.

He said most were known contacts of other positive cases, but one was unlinked at this stage and still under investigation.

There were no new exposure sites in Geelong added to the exposure list

Overall there were 1377 new cases announced this morning, with 73 of them being in regional areas.

Many of those regional cases are in Mitchell, Shepparton and the Latrobe Valley which are all under lockdown restrictions.
