LIVING on the coast means summer days spent at the beach.
And Ocean Grove Primary School Grade 6 students will be well equipped to spend their holidays in the water this silly season.
The students undertook an extensive 10-day surf program at Ocean Grove Main Beach.
“Living on the coast we think it’s important to get the students out in the ocean to teach them about rips and currents,” Grade 6 teacher Josh Dunne said.
“It’s just a really good, fun way to learn about water safety in the ocean.”
Students learned the basics of surfing and then got to try their new skills out in the ocean at 17W.
