Seven Greater Geelong local playgrounds are set to be renewed in 2025 and your feedback is wanted for their designs.
In line with the City’s Play Strategy, the renewals will ensure each playground includes opportunities to run, swing, slide and climb, with refreshed equipment and improved accessibility.
The playgrounds included in this year’s renewal program are:
Geelong West Reserve – 66-76 Church Street, North Geelong
Clear Water Reserve – Clear Water Drive, Clifton Springs
Thomson Reserve – Godfrey Street, Thomson
Sharland Reserve – White Gum Drive (Lomandra Drive), Hamlyn Heights
St Albans Reserve – St Albans Road, St Albans
Percy Cherry Reserve – Creekside Drive, Curlewis (slide only)
Collendina Reserve – 18 Minerva Close, Ocean Grove
Sports & Recreation portfolio chair Councillor Eddy Kontelj encouraged residents to share their thoughts on the proposed designs.
“Local playgrounds are places where kids can learn through play and connect with their neighbourhood,” he said.
“We want to make sure these spaces reflect what our community needs and values, so we’re asking families to get involved and give us their insight.”
The City manages more than 380 public playgrounds and 62 early childhood centre-based playgrounds.
