The Bellarine Camera Club is holding its first exhibition since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Drysdale this weekend.
More than 300 photos from 25 photographers will be on display for the club’s 2024 Photographic Exhibition at SpringDale Neighbourhood Centre from 10am to 4pm on November 2 and 3.
A wide variety of styles and subjects will be on show at the exhibition, from dreamy dawn landscapes to photos of lions in the wilds of Africa.
Club president Debbie Hallows said club members were “very excited” to have their works on display after a long hiatus between exhibitions.
“We have lots of members displaying their images… we have beginners and we’ve got some really, really good photographers,” she said.
“We have members who have been accepted into international competitions, we have qualified judges that come out once a month who are impressed with our standard of work. It’s a great club.”
The Bellarine Camera Club formed in 2009 as a small group of photography enthusiasts in St Leonards, but quickly grew and branched out into the wider Bellarine.
Ms Hallows said the club was vibrant and encouraging, with many events to help support members’ skill development.
“Our club has very friendly, open people, that’s one thing I really love about it,” she said.
“We have a lot of workshops on all sorts of things, from the basics to harder things, and guest speakers as well.
“The more experienced members help the less experienced ones, and we’re all forever learning. Everyone has a lot of fun.”
