Connor a Giant

Drysdale and Geelong Falcons defender Connor Idun will head to Sydney to begin his AFL career.

The tall defender was chosen by Greater Western Sydney Giants with pick number 61 in the national draft today.

Idun, who did VCE at Christian College this year, was a draft bolter, coming into serious calculations after the AFL draft combine where he impressed.

The 191cm defender tested well in the standing vertical jump and the 20 metre sprint.

The 18-year-old will head north in the coming days, saying goodbye to family and friends and kick starting a career at the highest level as a Giant.
