Anglesea seamer Ollie Huby bowled his team to victory against Ocean Grove in A1 Grade on Saturday.
Huby picked up 5/25 from 14 overs pushing into the breeze in his best effort of the summer.
Needing 273 for victory, the Grubbers fell for 138 with opener Fletcher Long digging in for 47 from 124 deliveries and Mick Thornton 39 from 43 to continue his stellar season.
The Grubbers meet old rivals Barwon Heads in the Battle of the Bridge in the final round and although they can’t make the finals, this game is important regardless of ladder positions.
Ocean Grove goes into the final round on B1 Grade in top spot, but can fall as low as third of Barrabool beats Anglesea and Barwon Heads knocks off the Grubbers.
If Armstrong Creek has an unlikely outright, Grove could finish fourth, but the focus will be on winning this game and finishing on top.
The Grubbers won by 70 runs with spin duo Tom Kent (3/58 from 26 overs) and Robbie Rutley (2/21 from 12.4) proving difficult to get away while Craig Byron chipped in with 2/34 from 11 overs.
Ocean Grove looks headed for second spot in C Grade.
The only way the Grubbers can slip down the ladder is if it loses to the undefeated Armstrong Creek and Barrabool and/or Jan Juc pick up unlikely outright wins in the final round.
Grove chased down Drysdale’s 165 in 35 overs with left-handed opener Greg Scarpa again among the runs with 77 not out while Adam Spiby (41) and Steven Bate (38) spent some time in the middle.

Sonny Rutley (50 retired) and lefty Xavier Kiddle (63) were superb in their team’s competitive 7/196.
The Titans managed to get the runs in a cliffhanger finish off the final ball with Dane Noble taking three wickets and Shannon Le Bel two.
