Snakes’ spinner takes six

Stan Grazotis took six wickets for Collendina.

Collendina spinner Stan Grazotis bowled his side to victory against Surfcoast on Saturday.

The Cobras are now eight points clear in top spot and will finish as minor premiers.

Defending 217, Collendina bowled the Stingrays out for 151 with left-armer Grazotis taking 6/42 from 18 overs in a first-class display of spin bowling.

Gus Peters picked up two wickets and the Cobras will take on fifth-placed Winchelsea in the final round.

Zach Muir took four wickets in B2 Grade, but Barwon Heads proved too good.

Chasing 123 for victory, the Seagulls were cruising at 1/104, but it soon became 4/113.

However, Jaxon Mallet played well for a half-century and Lachlan Hooper got 33 late in the order to get the Gulls home.

Jacob Muir and Jack Every picked up two wickets each.

Grant McIntosh and Michael Goodger each struck half-centuries to bring up win number four for Dina’s C Grade team against Jan Juc.

Collendina defeated Newcomb in D Grade.

Byron Hansford picked up the amazing figures of four wickets for two runs from 10 deliveries bowled. Bradley Hawker took three wickets and the Snakes were left a total of 150 to chase for victory.

Hansford then capped off a player-of-the-match performance with 55 and Cam McGregor made 39 with Dina winning by two wickets with seven overs in hand.
