Ocean Grove locals are encouraged to check their Powerball tickets after a syndicate of twelve players shared a $10 million division one prize in last night’s (March 17) draw.
There were two division one winning entries in Powerball draw 1348. The entries, one from Victoria and the other from New South Wales, each scored $10 million.
In addition to winning division one, the syndicate’s 20-game PowerHit QuickPick entry won division two 19 times, division eight 4 times and division nine 8 times, boosting their total windfall to $10,353,777.85.
Each of the 12 syndicate members receives a share worth $862,814.82.
The store syndicate was from Ocean Grove Tatts & Cards, Shop 4, 73 The Terrace, Ocean Grove.
Ocean Grove Tatts & Cards owner Blair Dawkins said his entire team was celebrating the fantastic win for their local customers.
“It’s awesome for our winners, our outlet and the community,” he said.
“We’ve been sharing the news with all our customers, and they’re very excited about it. There’s a great atmosphere in the store today.
“This is a weekly syndicate running since I started – so that was ten years ago.
“Half of the syndicate members are regulars and have been playing for a long time, while the other half, I suspect are locals.
“We’re so happy for them all! We can’t wait to deliver the news to them as they come in to check their ticket.
“This is the first big win for this syndicate – so it’s a big moment. We’ve had some major wins in the past, and we always get so excited when we sell another.”
