Active cases continue to fall

Ocean Grove had 21 new official COVID cases today, but active case numbers are continuing to fall.

Ocean Grove had 81 active cases, a decrease of seven from Monday and a marked decrease from the 213 active cases on January 16.

The town has recorded 1087 COVID infections since the pandemic began.

While new cases are still being recorded, the number of active cases is falling as people recover.

Barwon Heads has 16 active cases, Clifton Springs, Curlewis, Drysdale and Wallington has 56, Indented Head, Portarlington and St Leonards has 30 while Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff had 24.

Statewide there were 14,553 new cases today with 768 in hospital, 99 in ICU and 31 on a ventilator.
