Barwon Heads batsman Darcy Hewitt completely demolished Little River’s bowling attack in round two of BPCA A2 Grade on Saturday.
Hewitt returned to the club last season and could only muster 181 runs for the season despite his undoubted talent.
That talent came to the fore on Saturday as he plundered 110 from only 57 deliveries before being run out in the closing stages of the Seagulls’ innings of 7-221.
Hewitt was at his devastating best, coming in at 3-68 to take the game away single handed.
Charlie Hurst played an important role with 40 from 78.
In reply Little River made just 80 with seamer Jack Johnstone snaring 3-11 and veteran Matt High 3-18.
Drysdale performed strongly, taking the points against Winchelsea.
Jason Malcolm top scored with 38 from 84 balls in the Hawks’ final total of 7-169 with Peter Davidson making 37 from 58 and Ben Spencer 31 from just 16.
Winch could only manage 83 in reply with Will Ritchie and Bailey Sykes taking three poles each.
Wallington proved it could be a force to be reckoned with, beating Newcomb by eight wickets.
Newcomb made 96 batting first with Matt Gardiner compiling a patient 29 from 105 deliveries.
