Torquay will play finals this season after defeating Queenscliff by five goals in round 16.

With two games remaining before finals, the Tigers are two wins and percentage ahead of Anglesea.

Torquay remains a slight chance to push for third with games against Portarlington and Barwon Heads to come.

Goal shooter Elisa Hall was best for Torquay in the 50 to 45 win, netting 33 goals from 36 attempts while goal attack Rhian Moresi was also on target with 17 from 19.

Queenscliff probably only needs to win one more game to finish third and should be able to do that with fixtures against Barwon Heads and Portarlington remaining.

Ocean Grove defeated Newcomb 71 to 42.

Newcomb is in fourth spot and with games against Modewarre and unbeaten Geelong Amateur to come, can still finish in the top three although it is unlikely.

Shooter Carly Sanders was named best for Newcomb with 30 goals while defenders Georgia Berry and Rhiannon Whitson were best for Ocean Grove, which will finish second.

Ruby Watson was again dominant as Geelong Amateur thrashed Drysdale 77 to 23.

Watson scored 65 goals from 68 attempts to take her season’s tally to 745.

Keisha Guilmartin was good at the other end of the court and Georgia Duncan starred in midcourt.

Paige McGrath did her best for the Hawks while Lily Mills scored 15 goals.

Modewarre left Barwon Heads with the points after a 42 to 31 win.

While neither side will play finals, it was Modda’s sixth win for the season. Defender Monique Sefton, wing attack Chloe Parkinson and goal shooter Sarah Rogers (27 from 31 attempts) were the stars.

Raquel Scott was Barwon Heads’ best at goal defence and was assisted nicely by goal defence Ebony Evans.

Anglesea had Portarlington’s measure for most of the game and came away with a 54 to 44 win with Briana Walters and Rhiannon Butler leading the way.
