Collendina slumped to its second straight A2 Grade loss for the season at the hands of Inverleigh in round 4 on Saturday October 26.

One of the preseason favourites for the premiership, the Cobras were humbled by a well-drilled Inverleigh side.

It’s far from panic stations for Collendina, however, as the two-day format begins this week, which will suit this side better than the limited overs game.

Collendina batted first and was off to a bright start with Corey Walter (37) and Nathan Fry (22) adding 51 for the first wicket.

But from there, the Snakes lost 10 wickets for 41 runs and were bowled out for 92.

Collendina needed early wickets and Angus Peters removed Will Stoney early, but the next wicket wouldn’t come until the score was 58. The Kookaburras lost two for none, but were guided to victory four down. Walter stood up and took 2/13 from eight immaculate overs.

The Cobras now take on Winchelsea at home with the 75-over format beginning.

Cameron Kavaliunas made a stunning 109 not out from just 84 deliveries to guide Collendina to C1 Grade victory.

Dean Britt took 4/27 earlier in the day to help restrict Inverleigh to 9/146 from 40 overs. Zac Muir (1/11) and Byron Hansford (1/14) also played pivotal roles with each bowling well during their eight-over spells.

Kavaliunas then teed off to get the runs in 23 overs, ensuring an early finish.

A brilliant 124 not out from Garry Wingrave deserved more as Collendina was beaten by Drysdale in C2 Grade.

Wingrave was superb with the Cobras making 4/200, but the Hawks chased the target down with four wickets and four overs in hand.

Haiden Damiani made a fine 74 not out while Mitch Smith made 48.

An easy victory for Dina’s D Grade team with Will Brennan making a superb 100 not out in a final total of 3/234 against Newcomb.

David Worn made 96 in a top innings while Chris Pitfield made 22 in his 350th club game.

Jye Hearps then grabbed the new ball and took 3/9 from eight overs and helped bowl the Bulls out for 76. Dan Worn and Craig Atkins chipped in with two wickets each.
