Wallington bowed out of the BPCA A2 Grade finals race after suffering a loss to Winchelsea in the penultimate round of the season.
Needing to win to stay alive, the Wallabies were not up to the task as they fell well short of the 223 required to take the points.
Three of the top six batters got into the teens, but failed to go on with Owen Dunn the top scorer on 26 not out.
Wallington was all out for 125 and with St Leonards winning comfortably, finals are now out of the question.
In B2 Grade, Wallington needs to defeat Barwon Heads to finish on top of the ladder, but it also needs to make up some percentage so it probably needs to win reasonably well.
The Heads are a game clear on top with a percentage of 1.728 while Wallington is on 1.524.
The Wallabies received a forfeit for their round 13 clash.
The 3rd XI is finals bound and can still snatch top spot.
Wallington chased down Jan Juc’s total of 4/177 with Mark Johnson getting 64 not out from only 56 deliveries.
The 4th XI gave top side Queenscliff an almighty scare and almost did a massive favour to their 3rd XI stablemates.
However, Queenscliff dug deep when it mattered.
Wallington made 9/192 batting first with Nick Patena (41 from 31) and Riley Hull (33 from 35) among the runs.
As good teams do, Queenscliff chased down the total down with three wickets and eight overs in hand.
