Queenscliff has the chance to get itself right back into the finals race this weekend.
With three games remaining, the Coutas are a game and a half behind Geelong Amateur and level on points with Anglesea.
Both rivals face tough assignments tomorrow and aren’t expected to win.
Queenscliff, on the other hand, plays the winless Portarlington and victory could see the side only half a game outside the five with two rounds to go.
Ammos face Barwon Heads and are at long odds to knock off the Seagulls while Anglesea meets Drysdale in what looms as an even tougher assignment.
Queenscliff and Anglesea will meet each other in round 17 while Ammos face top side Torquay.
If things go to plan, Queenscliff will be in the five with one round remaining.
Holding onto that spot, though, becomes very tough indeed.
Queenscliff will start as an underdog against Torquay while Ammos and the Coutas meet sides below them on the ladder in Ocean Grove and Newcomb.
Ocean Grove hosts Modewarre tomorrow with the Warriors needing to win to keep an unlikely top three spot hope.
Modda should win, but needs Barwon Heads to lose to Geelong Amateur to have any chance.
Even then, Barwon Heads has Ocean Grove and Portarlington to come and will win those by enough to keep Modda at bay on percentage if it comes to that.
