Grove assured of double chance

Ocean Grove cemented its spot in the top three of the Bellarine Netball League A Grade ladder with a win against fourth placed Drysdale on Saturday.

The Grubbers are a game behind first and second placed Geelong Amateur and Torquay with three rounds to play.

Rebecca O’Neill continued her outstanding season at goal shooter with a further 46 goals to take her season’s tally to 653 from 786 attempts.

Despite the loss, Drysdale remains in fourth spot and and with a 10-point buffer from sixth placed Barwon Heads, should play finals.

Ammos defeated Queenscliff by 32 goals to hold top spot with Celeste Mutton best on court.

Torquay proved too good for Modewarre by 32 goals. Modda is six points clear of Barwon Heads in fifth spot and faces a tough game against Ocean Grove this weekend.

Barwon Heads kept its slim finals hopes alive with a one-goal win against Newcomb.

Portarlington won its third game of the season, a 10-goal win against Anglesea with Morgan van Leerdam, Serah Scutchings and Mikayla Hellmann the stars.
