Ocean Grove’s Saturday Pennant bowls team remains undefeated on top of the Geelong Bowls Region ladder after seven rounds.
On Saturday, the Grovers defeated Queenscliff by 12 shots with Peter Loe’s rink enjoying a 31 to 16 win.
In Division 1, Ocean Grove’s two teams are sitting fourth and ninth.
Fourth placed Grove 2 beat Leopold with the biggest win coming from Luke Benson’s rink of Ron Brown, Terence Brady and Gary Burkett 32 to 8.
Ocean Grove is in sixth place on the Division 3 ladder and remained in the hunt for a finals spot with a 15-shot win against Torquay.
Ocean Grove is in second spot on the Division 5 table after beating Geelong RSL by 16 shots thanks to a 19-shot win from Andrew Wright’s rink of Terri Rudge, Dan Goodall and Peter Kuschert.
Grove is seventh on the Division 6 ladder, but is only one game outside the top four. Anglesea proved too good for Ocean Grove, winning by a convincing 29 shots.
Ocean Grove slipped to seventh on the Division 7 ladder after a 34-shot loss to top side Leopold.
In the combined Divisions 8 and 9, a 10-shot loss to Leopold saw Ocean Grove slip to eighth place on the ladder.
