Ocean Grove took on Anglesea in sunshine with a touch of wind and some very close encounters across the senior grades.
A Grade – Ocean Grove 31 vs Anglesea 32
Best: V. Rishitelli, S. Hackett, K. Ollis
Grove A Grade had a good second half, but it wasn’t enough to get them over the line in a thriller going down by a goal. Defence was tight with Vanessa Rischitelli and Shelby Hackett battling it out with Seas attackers and Kelsey Ollis claiming 17 goals.
B Grade – Ocean Grove 52 vs Anglesea 28
Best: L. Ollis, M. Badrock, E. Mercer
Grove had a goal frenzy with Erin Mercer shooting 28 goals and defenders Lauren Ollis and Meg Badrock ever reliable in limiting Anglesea’s scoring ability.
C Grade – Ocean Grove 19 vs Anglesea 19
Best: K. Collett, E. Bolton, A. Binns
Great game from the girls taking on higher-placed Anglesea with winners all over the court. Defender Kylie Collett took plenty of intercepts, Amber Binns took control feeding attacker Eden Bolton.
D Grade – Ocean Grove 25 vs Anglesea 28
Best: B. Doolan, K. Carroll, F. Needham
D grade showed their true gritty style of play to take the win this week. Brianna Doolan kept the Grove defence strong with attackers Kim Carroll and Famie Needham ticking the score over.
19U – Ocean Grove 24 vs Anglesea 18
Best: A. King, J. Sutton, L. Doyle
Grove played a strong game with centre courters Amina King and Loretta Doyle taking on the Seas challenge and Jesse Sutton scoring 14 goals.
