Grove’s finals hopes fading fast

Ocean Grove faces a daunting trip to Mount Moriac today to face Modewarre in round 7 of Bellarine Football League.

The Grubbers sit ninth on the ladder and their finals hopes are fading badly.

Modda is in fourth place and will be keen to string some wins together to get into the top three.

The entire round looks fairly lopsided.

Barwon Heads perhaps has the toughest gig with a trip to Highton to take on Geelong Amateur.

Ammos will be without Jack Scarlett for the next two weeks after he was rubbed out by the Match Review Panel for rough conduct on Queenscliff’s Justin Maher.

The Seagulls are in imposing form, however, and should come home with the four points.

Unbeaten Drysdale hosts Anglesea in what should be a comfortable win while Torquay will be tested by Newcomb, but should have a win at home.

Queenscliff will jump into the top five if it beats Portarlington as expected and Barwon Heads defeats Ammos.
