Second plays fourth in game of the round

Barwon Heads hosts Portarlington tomorrow in the Bellarine Peninsula Cricket Association A2 Grade match of the round.

Both sides are finals contenders with Port sitting in second place and the Seagulls in fourth.

Darcy Hewitt is the comp’s leading run scorer with 197 at 49.25, but it’s how he gets them that is so important for Barwon Heads.

The right-hander generally scores at a run a ball or better and his early wicket is crucial for Portarlington.

Paul Wells and Blake Dobbin have both taken eight wickets for Port while Jack Johnstone has taken nine for the Seagulls.

Wallington hosts Winchelsea with both sides sitting just outside the top four.

Davinder Singh and Damien Biemans have taken 15 wickets between them for Wallington while Matt Partridge and Sam Rieseley have 14 for Winch.

Winchelsea probably holds the upper hand in the batting department with Ash Hubbert and Adam Korth combining for 250 runs so far.

Bottom side Newcomb hosts top side Drysdale in what seems like a lopsided encounter.

But the Hawks will still need to play well with Newcomb showing some genuine fight last round.

Nick Hallam has 191 for Drysdale and his battle with veteran left-arm seamer Brendan Sheedy will be one of the individual highlights of the game.

Armstrong Creek makes the trek down the Princes Freeway to take on Little River.

The Titans were not at their best last weekend, losing to Barwon Heads, but the inclusion of star young leggie Grace Jones will give variety to their attack tomorrow.
