Surfside Waves Soccer Club sits third on the Men’s Division One ladder with two wins from as many games.
The Waves defeated arch rivals Barwon Heads 3-1 thanks to two first-half goals and then a late 87th minute winner from Niccolo Bassi.
The Waves are sixth in Division Two with a 5-2 smashing of Deakin Ducks. Alexander Ketchen scored a hat-trick while Jack Attard netted a brace.
The Waves went down to Barwon in the Women’s Division One competition and sit fifth on the table with a win and two losses. Indiah Van Galen scored for Surfside.
Surfside was also beaten by Barwon in Women’s Division Two in a high-standard game. The Waves are on the bottom of the table, but were much improved in a 3-4 loss with Lily Woodward scoring a brace.
