OCEAN GROVE NETBALL
Ocean Grove Premier Division took the game right up to top of the ladder Geelong Amateur with a great final attacking quarter, but couldn’t secure the win. Grove players worked tirelessly throughout the day, all playing their role and will hopefully come back stronger next time they meet.

Very defensive game with both teams creating turnovers in the physical encounter. Excellent defence from Candice Parker with centre courters Liv Hobbs and Dani Hoiles turning up the heat in the mid court.

Ammos were too good but Claudia Britt was excellent once again for Grove.

Ocean Grove 10 def by Geelong Amateur 37. Best: M. Giblin, K. Hart, A. Collihole.
Grove never stopped trying, but Ammos were too strong all over. Michaela Giblin was good and Kimberley Hart backed up a game at goalshooter in the Under 17s and was very good at goakkeeper in Div 2.

The scores wre deadlocked at half time and it only took until the last quarter for Ammos to pull away froma very plukcy Ocean Grove. Amina King was Grove’s best.

Ocean Grove v Modewarre
It was a big clash for the Grove Premier Division against the undefeated Modewarre in perfect conditions and the game certainly didn’t disappoint. Grove led the charge right from the first whistle and although challenged throughout the match, especially heading into the last quarter, the girls kept playing their game style and came away with the four points.

This was always going to be a tough game and that’s exactly what the girls got. Starting even by quarter time, Modewarre gained momentum over the Grubbers and the score started stretching out in Modewarre’s favour. The girls were relentless, and despite coming away with another loss, they came as close as any team has to beating Modewarre.
