Ocean Grove earned the right for a fourth crack at Geelong Amateur this season with a comfortable Bellarine Netball League preliminary final win against Torquay.
The Grubbers put aside any hint of perceived pre-match pressure to open the game strongly before cruising to a 57 to 41 victory.
Looking ahead to this Saturday’s grand final, and Ammos will be aiming to become premiers and champions, having not lost at all this season.
In the three meetings this year, Ammos have beaten Grove by 17 goals in round 6, by five in round 15 and by five in the second semi-final.
Ocean Grove will be hoping for a repeat of last year, when it stunned previously unbeaten Ammos in the grand final.
On Saturday August 31 at Leopold, the Grubbers controlled the game with defenders Georgia Berry and Rhiannon Whitson starring.
Zanna Woods was superb at goal attack and Georgia Ryan continued her excellent form at centre.
Torquay goal shooter Elisa Hall was a constant threat with 30 goals.
In B Grade, Torquay defeated Ocean Grove 41 to 30 and will play Geelong Amateur in the grand final.
Modewarre’s 42 to 33 win in C Grade earned it a grand final spot against Ocean Grove.
Geelong Amateur will take on Ocean Grove in D Grade after a 27 to 22 preliminary final win against Torquay.
In E Grade, Ocean Grove defeated Barwon Heads 32 to 26 with Keely Boswell, Taryn Laverty and Emma Barry best. The Grubbers will play Geelong Amateur in the grand final.
All grand finals are at Leopold Memorial Reserve on Saturday September 7.
