Located on the traditional land of the Wadawurrung people, Bellarine Secondary College is the local school on the Bellarine Peninsula.
The College plays an essential role in bringing the community on the Bellarine Peninsula together providing students with the opportunity to learn alongside their neighbours and to truly learn where they live.
With a rich history that began as Queenscliff High School, Bellarine Secondary College has a long-standing tradition of serving its community. As the Bellarine Peninsula continues to evolve, so too does the College, adapting and innovating to meet the diverse needs of its growing population while remaining deeply rooted in its local heritage.
The College is dedicated to supporting every student to achieve their best. With a strong academic focus, students are encouraged and challenged to pursue excellence, preparing them for success beyond school whether that’s university, TAFE, an apprenticeship, or employment.
From the Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) program which supports less repetition and deeper learning, to the popular Basketball Program, the celebrated VET Music and Equine programs and a variety of other VET options, the College caters to the diverse interests and aspirations of its students.
The College also offers a broad and engaging curriculum embedded in the Victorian Curriculum. Beyond our commitment to excellence in literacy and numeracy, signature programs in the arts – including both visual and performing arts – outdoor education, agriculture, horticulture and equine studies allow students to explore and develop a wide range of talents and skills further to the essential learning of the core curriculum.
In the later years, a range of pathway programs ensures flexibility and choice as students prepare for pathways beyond the College. VCE results each year reflect that students achieve excellence in the VCE as well as develop the skills essential for the world of work in the VCE-Vocational Major Program at the College.
These are complemented by valued community partnerships with Bellarine Landcare, Farm My School, Bellarine Basketball Association, HeadStart, the Potato Shed, and the City of Greater Geelong, each helping to bring real-world learning to life.
Wellbeing is at the heart of the College’s mission. Bellarine Secondary College understands that success is not just academic, it’s also about being healthy, happy, and connected.
A strong wellbeing framework supports students to develop resilience, form positive respectful relationships, and lead fulfilling lives.
