Ocean Grove has a lot of work to do this Saturday if it is to win its second consecutive BPCA A1 Grade game in a row.

The Grubbers managed 141 all out against Jan Juc in Dan Roddis’ 150th A Grade game.

Shaun Fankhauser top scored with 54 and David Bullock provided resistance in the middle stages with a gritty 26 from 74 balls.

Sharks spinner Mark Zahra was the star of the day with a superb 6/27 from 20.4 overs.

Grove needs to work on its running between wickets between now and round 7 with another three run outs plaguing the innings, including both openers.

The Sharks had a tricky five overs to face before stumps and Zac Jones made an immediate impact with a wicket, but Zahra is not out on 13 from 11 deliveries and Peter Buszard is still there also on 13.

The Sharks raced to 1/32 and need 110 more runs next week while Ocean Grove needs nine wickets at Bob Pettitt Reserve, Jan Juc.

Grove B1 Grade skipper Billy Foord-Engelsman was the star of the day against Jan Juc with 5/19 from 24 immaculate overs.

Sam McGlynn took three wickets to have the Sharks all out for 87 in the 60th over.

A resolute 28 from 124 balls by keeper Ryan Bilston kept the Grubbers in the field for longer than they wanted.

Ocean Grove is 26 without loss in reply with Ben Hanson and Elijah Baran both on 11.
